I’m Izzie, a third year zoo biology student who is passionate about wildlife conservation and animal welfare. I am particularly interested in endangered species recovery and carnivores such as Hyaena and Grey Wolves. During my time at university I found my love for public speaking and presenting, and discovered the importance of education as a priority for modern zoos.

Communication

I am good at communicating on all levels; both verbally and written, with people of all ages.

As part of my English GCSE course I made a speech on the fur industry, which was recorded, I enjoyed doing it very much and received a distinction for this element.

As a CERT mentor and open day employee I’m used to and confident with talking in front of large groups of people, both in a formal setting and during tours of the facilities. I am in my element when talking to these groups about the animals and the campus.
